If recent reports are to be believed, Nottingham Forest are interested in highly-rated Cheslea youngster Billy Gilmour.

The 18-year-old midfielder has made a couple of appearances for the first team at Stamford Bridge and has been one of the standout players for their development squad.

And, London Football News claim that Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have both been keeping close tabs on the best players from Chelsea's development side and are potentially interested in signing Gilmour on loan, should he be made available.

It remains to be seen whether Gilmour will be offered for a loan switch, but he could really benefit from gaining some experience in the Championship.

Here is ONE winner and ONE loser at Nottingham Forest if the club can sign Gilmour on loan...

Winner: Sabri Lamouchi

Gilmour is a promising young player and he wouldn't be at a top club like Chelsea unless he had the potential to make it at the top level. If Nottingham Forest were to sign him on loan, he'd certainly strengthen Sabri Lamouchi's midfield options.

Even though Frank Lampard has shown that he's prepared to give young players a chance, Gilmour probably isn't going to get too many opportunities in the first team at Stamford Bridge this season due to the quality that Chelsea have in midfield.

With that said, he's an exciting player and he'd be able to add some more depth and quality to the Forest midfield. He could really benefit from some experience in the Championship and an experienced coach like Lamouchi should be able to get the best out of him.

Loser: Ryan Yates

Ryan Yates is a promising young player and he showed last season under Martin O'Neill that he's got what it takes to make an impact in the Championship.

However, the midfielder has missed the start of the season with a knee injury and with the Reds doing so well in the Championship at the moment, he may struggle to force his way back into the team when he returns to full fitness.

The arrival of another exciting and talented young midfielder in Gilmour would surely harm his chances of getting into the team under Lamouchi.
