Nottingham Forest are hoping to make a few new signings before Friday's transfer deadline and Luke Freeman has once again been linked with a move to the City Ground.

The 27-year-old is currently at Sheffield United after joining the newly-promoted Premier League side in the summer but he has struggled to get regular game time for Chris Wilder's high-flying side.

Therefore, a move could be in the pipeline and reporter Alan Nixon confirmed the Reds have an interest in the player, although he stressed any deal may depend on the Blades bringing in a replacement.

The chance to get back playing each week may appeal to Freeman and he has proven over the years that he can star in the Championship.

With that in mind, we look look at ONE winner and ONE loser if this potential transfer goes through...

Lewis Grabban

The obvious winner in this instance would be Grabban as any striker would love to have someone like Freeman creating chances for them.

The ex-QPR midfielder is technically gifted, has an eye for a pass and is unselfish in the way he always look to set up teammates.

Grabban has been in fine form this season but he could take his game to another level if he has regular service from Freeman.

Where did these 15 Nottingham Forest players sign from?

Joao Carvalho

However, one man who might not welcome the addition of Freeman is attacking midfielder.

Whilst the prospect of the two linking up in midfield would excite fans and has the potential to be devastating, the reality is that Sabri Lamouchi wouldn't play the two in the same team.

With Carvalho already struggling to make the XI consistently, this would push him further down the pecking order or potentially convince him he needs a move.
