Luton Town are closing in on the signing of Barnsley striker Cauley Woodrow, with the Yorkshire Post claiming that a deal could be agreed as early as today.

Interest first surfaced yesterday afternoon, with a Tweet from Mike McGrath of The Telegraph claiming that the Tykes had given Woodrow permission to speak to the Championship outfit.

Woodrow is a product of the Luton academy, with the 27-year-old joining Fulham from the Hatters over 10 years ago.

Whilst we wait and see how this situation plays out, here, we take a look at one winner and one loser at Kenilworth Road if Woodrow is to arrive...

One winner - Elijah Adebayo

A classy and intelligent forward who works better as part of a forward two, Woodrow could get the very best out of Adebayo if he is to sign on the dotted line in Bedfordshire.

Woodrow's link-up play and unselfish work could help Adebayo hit even higher heights next season, that is of course if the Hatters can keep hold of their talismanic figure.

It would likely be a working relationship that Woodrow would benefit from too, with the 27-year-old likely to see joy when running in behind when the ball is played up to the towering front man.

One loser - Harry Cornick

It is extremely difficult to work out or predict how things would pan out if Woodrow arrives, with one possibility being that Harry Cornick could see less frequent game time.

Enjoying an excellent campaign last time out, it would be interesting to see if he can retain a regular starting spot next to Adebayo if Woodrow comes in.

Cornick's pace and directness caused all sorts of havoc in the Championship last season, and there is certainly scope for him to be as integral again, but if Woodrow joins, it will be interesting to see what kind of role the former Bournemouth will play.
