According to reports from Football Insider, Derby County are plotting a January move for out-of-favour Celtic man Scott Sinclair.

The winger was believed to be on Derby's radar in the summer, but the Rams opted to sign Bristol City winger Jamie Paterson on loan after failing to agree a deal with Celtic.

But Sinclair has been completely frozen out at Parkhead by Neil Lennon, and currently faces a very uncertain future at the Glasgow club.

The 30-year-old has made just two appearances in the SPFL this term - both of which coming from off the bench - and he was also left out of the matchday squad in the 4-0 win over Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Despite scoring 62 goals in over 160 games for the Hoops, Sinclair looks set to be on his way out of Celtic Park in January, with Derby reportedly keen on a move.

Phillip Cocu is expected to be a busy man in the winter as he prepares to bolster his squad with fresh faces, with the play-off places not a million miles away from the Rams.

Can you score 18 out of 18 on this Derby County quiz?

Here, then, we take a look at one winner and one loser if Derby go and finalise a deal for Sinclair...

Winner: Tom Lawrence

Despite being a very similar player to Sinclair, Lawrence could really benefit if the winger arrives from Celtic in January.

In recent weeks, Lawrence has thrived since moving from the left flank over to the number 10 role - a position which focuses upon his close ball-control and skill, rather than his lack of blistering pace.

If Sinclair were to sign for the Rams, then it's expected that he would occupy the left-wing spot, suggesting that Cocu sees Lawrence's new position as an attacking midfielder.

Loser: Florian Jozefzoon

Ultimately, if another winger were to arrive at Pride Park, then it would push Jozefzoon further down the pecking order under Cocu.

The Dutch winger has flattered to deceive this term, making six league starts and failing to create as many chances as he would have liked to.

The 28-year-old hasn't featured since the end of November, and in the business end of the season, it would be hard for him to make an impact if Sinclair put pen to paper.
