Birmingham City are expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window after another disappointing season.

Lee Bowyer is unlikely to be backed with significant cash, so the task for the boss will be to find a few bargains, and one player who could arrive for a cut-price fee is Mallik Wilks.

The Hull forward is out of contract in the summer but the Tigers have the option to extend his deal by 12 months. But, even if they do that, it's still likely they will sanction a sale as Wilks doesn't appear to be in the plans of Shota Arveldaze.

And, here we look at ONE winner and ONE loser if the 23-year-old makes the move to St. Andrew's...

Winner: Mallik Wilks

You'd have to say Wilks is the big winner from this move, if it happens.

There was a lot of hype around the forward after a brilliant individual season in League One last time out, but the step up to the Championship has been difficult, with the former Leeds youngster managing just three goals in 20.

Of course, injuries haven't helped his season, nor the change in management, but those figures are poor. So, Blues would be taking a chance on the player and he would need to repay them if the move went through.

Loser: Jeremie Bela

The winger is a similar player in the sense that he's an attack-minded player who operates down the flanks.

So, Wilks arrival would naturally make it harder for Bela to get in the XI, but with his contract expiring in the summer, the links with Wilks suggest that they aren't going to renew Bela's deal, meaning he will be leaving in the summer.
