It is hard to imagine that there will be a bigger thrashing in the Championship this season than West Brom's 7-1 win against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Darren Moore's side were in rampant form as the deadly front four of Jay Rodriguez, Dwight Gayle, Harvey Barnes and Matt Phillips tore the R's to shreds.

Rodriguez and Phillips both stuck two past Matt Ingram whilst Gayle scored one and won two penalties. Kieran Gibbs and Hal Robson-Kanu completed the rout.

Those three points takes the Baggies up to third in the division whilst it is a defeat that keeps Steve McClaren's side rooted to the foot of the table.

It is a match where there were plenty of winners and also plenty of losers although it was pretty obvious which side each were on.

Here we take a look at one winner and one loser from the match....

Dwight Gayle was the big winner from Saturday's Hawthorns hammering.

The on-loan Newcastle United striker had a lot of pressure on him to deliver performances similar to those which fired the Magpies to promotion two years ago but it appears he still more than has what it takes.

A fruitful partnership already seems to be forming with Jay Rodriguez with Gayle playing just behind the former Southampton man and winning both West Brom's penalties on Saturday.

Not for the first time in recent seasons has Steve McClaren been declared a loser.

It is hard to feel it is unjustified this time around. The 7-1 hammering made it three defeats from three for the Rs and will have really piled the pressure on the manager already.

Managing QPR in their current form is never going to be easy, but they have the tools to be performing far better than they currently are and if there is no improvement against Bristol City and Wigan Athletic we could be looking at the first managerial casualty of the season.
