Injuries are becoming a major problem for Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United, with the Argentinian’s squad looking extremely stretched at this crucial part of the Championship season.

Leeds’ trimmed squad has managed well so far this season, with the Whites in the hunt for promotion after 17 fixtures.

However, Leeds now have some tough fixtures in the build-up to Christmas, including trips to Sheffield United and Aston Villa, whilst the festive period will prove to be the typical test of a smaller squad.

An injury to Pontus Jansson has Leeds fans worrying now, with Phil Hay at the Yorkshire Evening Post confirming that the 27-year-old could well be missing for Saturday’s clash with Bristol City.

Jansson has ben a regular so far this season, featuring on 13 occasions and scoring one goal.

His performances have been superb lately, with Leeds surely needing the Swede back as soon as possible if they are to maintain their current form.

Here at FLW, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser within Leeds’ squad following this recent update on Jansson…

We’ve yet to see Shaughnessy in the Championship this season, but if Jansson is out, he’s the man likely to step up into the first-team.

Thomas Christiansen had plenty of faith in the Irish youngster last season, with Bielsa having little option but to take a look at Shaughnessy.

It might only be short-term, but Shaughnessy looks like he will have a chance to impress.

Dallas is struggling enough at right-back, and now, the man he lines up alongside on the right of defence is an injury doubt.

Jansson will help Dallas out massively, and for him to be absent will effect Dallas’ game.

It’s a worry for Bielsa as Dallas could be in for a tough afternoon against the Robins.
