Swansea City are said to be battling it out with Middlesbrough to sign Famara Diedhiou this summer, as per a recent report by Football Insider.

The striker was recently released by Bristol City and is seemingly keen to remain in England if at all possible this summer as he continues to weigh up his options.

Diedhiou was an affective player for the Robins during his four seasons at Ashton Gate and went on to notch up 51 goals in 169 games before he departed for pastures new.

Now it appears that the Swans are rivalling Boro for the signature of the 28-year-old this summer, as they look to bring in a proven goal scorer to the Liberty Stadium.

Here, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser at Swansea City if the club completes a deal to sign Diedhiou...

Winner - Jamal Lowe

The clear and obvious winner of any agreement being struck to sign Diedhiou this summer would be Lowe.

A signing that was originally bought in from Wigan Athletic, the striker notched up an impressive 14 goals for the Swans last term and was a leading light in their promotion charge.

Bringing in the former Bristol City frontman would not only provide him with some much needed competition but also someone who can share the goal scoring burden.

The two players would also arguably combine pretty well up top and could go on to form a deadly partnership in front of goal.

Loser - Liam Cullen

Cullen largely found game time hard to come by last season and would surely be negatively affected by the arrival of Diedhiou.

The youngster has slowly risen through the club's academy ranks and will now be seeking to nail down a more regular first team spot moving forwards.

Lowe kept him out of the team for much of the campaign just gone and it can be argued that he would easily be behind Diedhiou in the pecking order as well if the Senegalese front man signs for the club.

If he doesn't take the chances that he is afforded by Steve Cooper, Cullen may well be forced out of the club altogether.
