Stoke City are struggling in the Championship this season after being relegated from the Premier League last year.

They currently sit in 14th place despite being made convincing preseason favourites to win the title in May with the fans growing increasingly frustrated with the club.

Things could be about to get worse for them as well as left-back Erik Pieters recently confessed to being open to a move to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.

Despite the club's poor form, Pieters has had an impressive season at left-back, racking up two assists and one goal in 15 appearances in the league.

Apparently, the Magpies were interested in bringing in the Dutchman during the summer transfer window but a deal never materialised.

But with Paul Dummett suffering an injury whilst on international duty, their interest could be reignited during the winter window.

If he were to leave the Bet365 stadium, who would be the big winner at the club and who would be the big loser?

The big winner would have to be Tymon.

The 19-year-old has looked promising whenever he has played for the Potters and with Pieters gone Rowett could bump him up to be his first choice.

When both have been fit, McClean and Pieters have looked like a strong partnership down the left-hand side of the pitch.

If Pieters were to leave the Irishman would lose that partnership and ultimately a large part of his game.
