Stoke City manager Michael O'Neill could be about to bolster his attacking options in the upcoming transfer window by securing the services of Ross County striker Ross Stewart.

According to the Daily Record, the Potters are reportedly keeping tabs on the forward ahead of a potential swoop with Blackburn Rovers also thought to be interested.

Stewart has been one of Ross County's stand-out performers this season in the Scottish Premiership and has already scored nine goals in all competitions for his side.

Given that Stoke have only managed to find the back of the net on 20 occasions in the Championship this season, it could be argued that they may find it beneficial to add some firepower to their squad in January.

Providing that the Potters do indeed beat Blackburn to Stewart's signature, it could have a knock-on effect on the club's other players.

Keeping this in mind, we have set out ONE winner and ONE loser at Stoke if they seal a deal for the forward.

Check them out below...

Winner: Lee Gregory

Whilst it is fair to say that Lee Gregory has yet to hit top-form for Stoke since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer, he has illustrated some signs of promise during the current campaign.

Having already provided six direct goal contributions in the Championship, the forward will be hoping to play a key role in helping the Potters preserve their second-tier status in 2020.

Although Stoke are not exactly short of options up-front, the arrival of Stewart could provide some extra competition for Gregory.

Providing that he responds in a positive manner to the Potters' decision to bring in Stewart by upping his performance levels, the 31-year-old may end up becoming a key player for the club.

Loser: Tyrese Campbell

A product of Stoke's youth academy, Tyrese Campbell has found it difficult to force his way into the club's starting eleven so far this season.

Used as a substitute in 10 of his 16 appearances, the 19-year-old has only managed to score once for the Potters.

Whilst there is no doubting Campbell's talent, he may be forced to watch on from the sidelines for the foreseeable future if the club opt to sign Stewart in January.

In order to prevent the possibility of his career stagnating, the forward will need to illustrate to O'Neill in training over the coming weeks why he deserves to be a regular starter for Stoke.
