Marcelo Bielsa will have been delighted with his Leeds United side on Wednesday evening, with the Whites putting in a convincing performance to beat Swansea City 2-1.

Leeds had won just two of their last seven fixtures heading into the fixture, but goals from Pontus Jansson and Jack Harrison put them in control, and although Oli McBurnie’s late penalty had Elland Road on edge, the Whites were worth their three points.

Again, Ezgjan Alioski impressed as part of the back-four, with the Macedonian defensively sound.

He was also involved in both goals, with his deflected shot finding Jansson and his sweeping cross turned in by Harrison.

The 27-year-old has had a fairly inconsistent second season at Elland Road, but he’s finding his best now in an unfamiliar position.

With that in mind, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser from Alioski’s improved performances…

Winner: Jack Harrison

Harrison and Alioski link well together down the left, with the former in his best form since arriving at Elland Road.

With Alioski deeper, Harrison is getting regular football, which is helping him massively.

They look to be striking up a real partnership.

Loser: Barry Douglas

Douglas is amongst the best left-backs in the division, but he wasn’t playing well prior to his latest injury setback.

He won the Championship with Wolves last season, but he’s not finding those levels in a Leeds shirt and that’s concerning.

With Alioski in this kind of form, it’d be a surprise to see Douglas recalled when he’s fit.
