Leeds United have recently been linked with a move for Reading midfielder Michael Olise according to Football Insider.

It is also claimed that the likes of Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Arsenal and Wolves are just some of the teams interested in pursuing a deal to sign the 19-year-old.

Olise has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances in his breakthrough season with the Berkshire-based side, having made 21 appearances in total for Veljko Paunovic's side.

The midfielder has chipped in with four goals and seven assists in all competitions this term as well, which has seen interest in his services grow heading towards the January transfer window.

A move to Elland Road could be a tempting proposition for Olise as well, with the Whites currently playing their football in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa has completely transformed the club since taking charge, and Olise could be the next player to thrive under his management in the future.

We take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser for Leeds United, as they explore a potential move for Olise next month.

Winner: Marcelo Bielsa

Bielsa will be the winner if they complete a deal to sign Olise, with the Leeds boss certainly being able to take Olise to the next level as a player.

Olise has already shown maturity for his age, and his impressed with a number of performances for Reading in the Championship in the 2020/21 season.

Leeds need strength in depth in their midfield, as I'm still not convinced that they have adequate options to turn to if one of Mateusz Klich or Kalvin Phillips got injured.

But Olise can also operate out wide as well, so he'd be a versatile player to call upon when needed for Leeds, and they're making a smart move in targeting the midfielder.

Loser: Jamie Shackleton

Shackleton hasn't been a regular for Leeds United in the last couple of seasons, and has been restricted to just () appearances for the Whites this term.

The midfielder could end up being the loser in this situation, as he could potentially be pushed down the pecking order in Marcelo Bielsa's plans if Olise was to sign for the club.

Both Shackleton and Olise are versatile options to have in the Leeds team, but the Reading man has shown that he can perform to a high standard on a consistent basis, as well as make a notable contribution to goals this season with the Royals.

You have to question whether Shackleton would stick around with Leeds if Olise arrived, as he'll be wanting to get regular game time under his belt to further his development in first-team football.
