Derby County are battling it out with the likes of Celtic and Wolves as they look to sign exciting Peterborough attacker Siriki Dembele in the January window.

That's according to TEAMtalk, who claim that the 24-year-old is attracting serious attention following his performances in League One this season.

Whilst they state that the Scottish champions are 'pushing the hardest' to land Dembele, Derby would surely be an attractive option as well for the player as he may get more minutes at Pride Park.

Given the Rams attacking struggles this season, with just five goals in 12 Championship games, it's no surprise to see they are linked with attacking reinforcements and here we look at ONE winner and ONE loser from this potential deal...

Winner: Martyn Waghorn

Playing up front for Derby this season has been a tough task, evident by the fact that Waghorn is yet to score in open play.

Of course, he has to do more himself but the lack of service is also alarming, but signing Dembele would help on that front.

He is a creative, unpredictable player who can beat his opponent, play in tight spaces and takes risks. Waghorn would undoubtedly benefit from his arrival as more chances should follow.

Loser: Colin Kazim-Richards

It was a surprise to see Derby sign the 34-year-old and he hasn't had the best start to his Rams career.

It's completely unfair to judge him on five substitute appearances but Kazim-Richards didn't even make the squad on Saturday, which had been extended because of the new rules that are in place.

So, Dembele's arrival would knock him further down the pecking order, meaning game time will be even harder to come by.
