Stoke City are looking for something different in 2019 with Nathan Jones now at the helm after taking over from Gary Rowett.

The Potters have been struggling for form so far this season despite their squad possessing plenty of experienced, good players.

They might want to try something new in 2019, then, and Tyrese Campbell is certainly doing everything right to try and play himself into the frame.

He put on an electric display as he bagged twice for Stoke against Shrewsbury and, though the Potters would eventually lose the game, much of the talk surrounded the positive nature of the striker's performance.

A sharp mind in the box, his goals against the Shrews demonstrated his ability.

His first underlined his pace and composure in front of goal whilst his second was all about movement and instinct as he read a dropping ball before lashing home.

Certainly, he looks an exciting prospect and at a time where Stoke need a lift, he could well be someone they turn to in the coming months as they aim for a stronger finish to the season than their start.

In good form for the u21 side this season, Campbell now looks ready for the step up and, in manager Nathan Jones, he has a boss more than willing to offer him just that.

It's early days, but 2019 could be his most exciting yet - something Stoke fans will hope comes to pass.
