Marcus Forss is enjoying an excellent season with Brentford.

Seven goals so far this term has really helped the Bees as they look to secure promotion this term after missing out via the play-offs last time out.

Such good form has led to reports that Tottenham Hotspur might be interested in making a move, but is he ready for the Premier League?

We assess in today's FLW six-pointer...

What has been said?

A report from Eurosport has said: "Spurs too are beginning to look at future options but are already looking into a move for Brentford's Marcus Forss.

"The 21-year-old Finland forward is being monitored by a host of top clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, but Daniel Levy is making sure that Spurs don’t miss the chance to sign him.

"Forss is still considered an emerging talent at Brentford, and has made only five starts this term. However, he has scored seven times and is quickly becoming recognised as one of the Football League's most talented stars."

Why is Michael Forss attracting such interest?

Quite simply, Marcus Forss is establishing himself as one of the hottest prospects in the Championship.

The striker enjoyed a prolific spell on loan with AFC Wimbledon last term where he scored 11 goals in 18 appearances for the League One side.

This term the 21-year-old has been thrust into the first-team fold under Thomas Frank and has relished his role by grabbing seven goals already as the Bees look to push for promotion.

What would he bring to Tottenham Hotspur?

Marcus Forss is a classic number nine.

As well as possessing decent pace, the Finland international's main asset is his natural goalscoring instinct which he's shown in bucketloads during his young career so far.

He'd certainly be seen as one for the future in North London, but Spurs know that natural goalscorers are a dying breed.

Would Tottenham be a good move for him?

There's no disputing that Tottenham would be a great career move for him, but there's a question mark over the timing.

Forss is still finding his way in the game and isn't yet seen as a first-team regular with Brentford.

That's something that will be a big factor in a move, as surely the 21-year-old will be focused on playing games regularly - something that he's more likely to do under Thomas Frank.

What is Brentford's stance likely to be?

Naturally, the Bees are not going to want to lose their prized asset.

With Brentford pushing for promotion, the hope is that Forss can contribute towards a strong second half of the campaign and help Thomas Frank's side to secure a spot in the Premier League.

They certainly won't want to lose him halfway through the season and will think that there's more developing for him to do before he's sold on.

How likely is a move to materialise?

If the interest is genuine then there's nothing to suggest that a move won't happen in the future.

However, in the short-term it's unlikely to happen.

Brentford will be determined to keep Forss and will want at least another couple of seasons out of him before even entertaining the prospect of selling him on.

That said, if the Bees are promoted I can't see them selling at all.

But if they fall short again this season then it wouldn't be a surprise to see Tottenham and a number of other clubs testing the water with offers next summer.
