Swansea City are close to complete the loan signing of Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to BBC Sport.

The Swans are gearing up to go again after losing in the play-off semi-final last term.

Loan signings were key to their success last term and it appears they're close to another, as BBC Sport has reported that the Welsh club are set to sign Gibbs-White on a season-long loan.

But would he be a good signing for the Swans?

We asked our FLW writers for their thoughts...

George Dagless

I think so.

He's obviously got plenty of talent but he needs to be playing, as all young footballers do.

Swansea have a great culture and environment for these players to develop and Steve Cooper is a manager that plenty of other coaches would like their players to work with given his CV.

I expect Gibbs-White to do well for the Swans next season and it'll be a move that helps everyone out in the medium to long term.

Did these 12 ex-Swansea City players actually ever score for the club?

Jacob Potter

This is a move that makes sense for all parties involved.

Gibbs-White won't have been getting the regular minutes he would have wanted to with Wolves ahead of the new season.

Therefore, it makes perfect sense to look at loaning him out ahead of the new season, especially to a club like Swansea.

The Swans will be looking to make the necessary additions to their squad this summer, as they look to challenge for promotion once again.

With Conor Gallagher returning to Chelsea from his loan spell with Swansea, it's good to see Cooper turning to the loan market once again to find his replacement.

Gibbs-White will be eager to make a name for himself in senior football, and I think he can do just that with a strong season at Swansea.

Sam Rourke

I was shocked when I saw this.

Gibbs-White is one of the country's most promising emerging talents and has showed glimpses of his potential in the Premier League.

However, for one reason or another, Nuno Santo has only afforded the midfielder 14 appearances in all competitions in the 19/20 campaign, suggesting that a loan move away perhaps should have been expected.

For Swansea, it's a serious coup, and it's an ideal fit.

Cooper knows the player well from their time in the England under-17's together, and we have seen how fruitful a spell at the Liberty Stadium can be for young English players - You just have to look how Rhian Brewster and Gallagher's time went there.

Gibbs-White will add a real element of dynamism into Swansea's midfield, and I can see him flourishing in south Wales and becoming a key component for the Swans as they eye promotion.
