As part of a summer overhaul which could see up to seven players arrive at Ashton Gate, Bristol City are reportedly interested in signing Middlesbrough forward Britt Assombalonga, according to the Bristol Post.

The Robins are keen to reshuffle their squad regardless of which division they find themselves playing in next summer, and Boro's Assombalonga is believed to on Lee Johnson's radar.

The 26-year-old was a target for City in January, but a deal failed to materialise for the striker who has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season.

The forward has netted 25 times in 81 league games for the North East club since his £15million move from Nottingham Forest in 2017.

Here, we discuss whether he'd be a good signing for Lee Johnson's men...

George Harbey

"This would be a remarkable signing for City.

"If you can play to his strengths and keep him fit, Assombalonga is one of the best strikers out there in terms of Championship football.

"Under Lee Johnson, I can see him being a real success at Ashton Gate."

Louie Chandler

"This would be a top signing.

"Assombalonga seems desperate to get out from under the Pulis regime and move to a team where he can be the main man.

"Unlike at Boro, Lee Johnson and the Robins would suit his style of play perfectly."

Toby Wilding

"This could be a smart move for Bristol City.

"Assombalonga's physical presence means he offers something different to many of Bristol City's other attacking options, something which could prove vital in tight matches that at times recently haven't gone The Robins' way."
