Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry earned his first international cap for England U21’s on Friday evening, in what was a comfortable 3-1 victory over Scotland at the Riverside Stadium.

The 20-year-old defender has been phenomenal for his hometown side this season, forcing his way into the first team squad despite manager Garry Monk investing heavily in new talent.

Strong and assured on the ball, Fry is developing into one of the most promising young defenders in the English game, and Premier League clubs are sure to be monitoring the progress of the youngster.

In front of his home crowd on Friday night, Fry’s performance at the back helped England to yet another Euro U21 Qualifying win, putting Aidy Boothroyd’s men one step closer to the finals in Italy and San Marino in less than two years time.
