Orjan Nyland has taken to Twitter to apologise for his error against Ipswich Town, which gifted their opponents the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.

The Norway international made a mistake on his debut against Wigan Athletic last week, allowing Nick Powell to score the first equaliser in a 3-2 win for the Villans.

And he followed this up with another mistake against Ipswich at Portman Road.

With Aston Villa winning 1-0, Nyland came charging out from his goal line to claim a long throw but flapped at it and Trevoh Chalobah was in the right place to equalise for the host.

After the match, the 27-year-old took to Twitter to apologise to the fans for costing them the match.

He said: "Disappointed I dropped 2p [points] for us yesterday, now heads up and look forward to the game on Wednesday. Support was great!"

Fans took to social media to react to this tweet and here are some replies.
