Having struggled to adapt to Championship life after last season's relegation. Huddersfield have one man who may well be their shining light, his goals could be key.

Karlan Grant has arguably been the best player this season for the Terriers averaging a 6.51 match rating according to WhoScored.com.

Grant has scored four goals in his opening seven matches in the championship, for a 22-year-old in his first Championship season being Huddersfield's main man under trying circumstances is no mean feat.

Danny Cowley has said he wants to play an attacking brand of football, as time goes by Cowley will be implementing his philosophies in training. An attacking, quickly style of play will fit in with Grant's style perfectly.

Having broken through the academy at Charlton, Grant has had the experience of lower league football already in his relatively early career. Playing just shy of 100 games for the Addicks he earnt a move to then Premier League Huddersfield Town.

In fact, last season Grant was Town's best player after joining in January and the striker has carried on his decent form so far this season.

His Huddersfield career hasn't been successful as things stand but Grant could well be the man who could turn the clubs fortunes this season with his goals.

Only scoring five goals this campaign and four of them coming from Grant there does seem a carry on from last season of struggling in front of goal for the club as a whole.

Huddersfield brought in Fraizer Campbell in the summer to help with the goal-scoring problem as well as offering vital experience.

Fraizer Campbell could be vital around the training ground for the strikers, particularly Grant who could learn a lot from a player who has been an accomplished scorer at this level.

There is always a concern that should Huddersfield continue to struggle when January comes around clubs may come in for Grant and an offer of Premier League football, which he has proven he can handle, or more money from a fellow Championship club may prise him away.

To put pressure on a young English striker suggesting he is the clubs' only hope would be unfair but Grant hasn't made a bad start to the season and could flourish in a Huddersfield team with more confidence and an attacking identity.
