It was a disappointing night for all connected with Leeds United Football Club yesterday evening as they slumped out of the play-off picture with a loss to Derby.

Despite being 2-0 up in the tie on aggregate, things changed after a defensive mix-up let the Rams back into the contest and from there it was the away side who would go onto victory.

It'll be a bit of a long day today for many, then, but Ryan Edmondson is one man who's getting straight at the day.

He didn't play a part in the tie, of course, but surely is on the brink of first-team football next season - and is already putting the hard yards in ahead of the new campaign.

He put this up on Instagram earlier today:

He's in a decent mood at least, then, and though he and his team-mates will be disappointed, they must quickly look ahead to next season.

Indeed, on a personal level Edmondson has had a good season with the Leeds U23 side and his goals and performances have caught the eye of fans and staff of the club alike.

With Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton paving the way for young players, he'll hope he's next in line.

There's plenty good at Leeds at the moment, they can surely go again in 2019/20.
