Preston North End have had an outstanding season, sitting in ninth position after being included in the bookies favourites for relegation.

Add that to the fact that the Whites have one of the smallest budgets in the league, their achievement this campaign simply cannot be overlooked.

Simon Grayson’s men will look to build on their second season back in the Championship and maybe look to gain a play-off place next season.

In order to advance on their success, North End may need to have their best transfer window in years.

There are a few players in the depths of the squad who simply aren’t good enough to succeed at this level and Grayson could look to replace these men with others who boast Championship experience.

Over the next couple of pages, FLW writer Tom Rawcliffe will identify one player who Preston simply must sign and another who needs to be let go.
