On Sunday it was reported that Derby County had left Matej Vydra at home as they left for their pre-season tour, leaving the door wide open for a move to Leeds United to be completed.

Since Marcelo Bielsa took over, the buzz around the Czech's move to Elland Road has not gone away and it now looks like they will finally get their man.

Vydra was the Championship's top scorer last season with 21 goals, firing the Rams into the play-off places.

The 26-year-old would be the first real statement of intent from Bielsa as he looks to transform Leeds United into a promotion winning side.

But is Vydra the right man to lead the Whites' charge next season?

We discuss...

Adam Wilmott

Would be a good addition for the Whites.

He has lost his way in recent seasons, but he is a dangerous addition for any Championship side. Marcelo Bielsa may well get the best out of the Czech Republican.

Sam Rourke
One hell of a signing.
Vydra is a proven Championship goalscorer, and on his day, there are no better forwards in the EFL. If Bielsa can get the ex-Watford man firing, Leeds fans are in for a treat.
Jay Williams
Although the price is high, Vydra is a proven goal scorer at Championship level and if he can replicate his form from last season, Leeds will be right up there with the other promotion contenders.
Vydra is versatile, the perfect age and a great finisher. Leeds need to replace Chris Wood - as they failed to do last summer - and Vydra could well be the ideal man to fill that void.

Chris Gallagher

An excellent signing. It addresses the major goalscoring problem at Leeds and he can also suit Bielsa's style of play. He has great technique, movement and will link up the play as well as finishing off moves. There's no downside to this at all.
Gary Hutchinson
It would be one of the best. Derby faltered last season when his goals slowed down, but he does guarantee you 20 a season in this division.
If Leeds pull this off, their fans might just start to believe.
George Dagless
Definitely.
Leeds need proven Championship players, Vydra is certainly one of those. He scores goals for fun at this level and though it looks a fair whack of money it should prove worthwhile.
Alfie Burns
A real statement of intent from the Whites.
Vydra was last season’s top goalscorer in the Championship, proving his worth for Derby County. If Bielsa builds a team around the 26-year-old, he could be lethal at Elland Road.
