Charlton Athletic's current injury woes are beginning to have a big effect on the team's performances of late, with the Addicks having now gone seven games without a victory in the league, coinciding with more injuries to key players such as Josh Cullen.

Lee Bowyer could have been forgiven for thinking that things couldn't get any worse for his side after their recent bad luck on the injury front, however, it was revealed yesterday that another player could soon be on the treatment table at the Valley.

According to Richard Cawley of the South London Press on Twitter, Charlton midfielder Beram Kayal could be sidelined for a number of weeks due to the need for the Brighton loanee to have an operation to alleviate a current injury.

Kayal has found game time hard to come by since arriving at the Valley this summer, with fitness issues limiting the former Celtic man to just six Championship appearances so far.

News of the Kayal's apparent fitness update will surely come as a boost to young Charlton midfielder Albie Morgan, who was recently recalled by Bowyer from his loan spell at Ebbsfleet United to supplement the limited options that the Addicks boss currently has available to him.

The 19-year-old will be confident of getting more game time for his side in the coming weeks, particularly as the Addicks are very short of options in the centre of the park due to the aforementioned injury problems.

Morgan has made four appearances for Charlton this term and will no doubt be looking to establish himself in the side as we head towards the midway point of the campaign and as a result take advantage of the team's current fitness issues.

The youngster will be looking to put in a good showing this weekend as the Addicks travel to the Riverside to take on lowly Middlesbrough.
