“Once a blade, always a blade” Sheffield United fans react to outgoing player

Clayton Donaldson has bid farewell to Sheffield United following the expiration of his contract.
The Jamaican striker had joined the Blades at the beginning of the season on a free transfer from Birmingham.
Despite largely playing as a back-up to Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp, he managed to finish the season with 5 goals and an assist in his 30 appearances. This including a double on his debut, a 2-1 win at Sunderland.
However, with 132 goals in 395 appearances across the Football League, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was picked up by another club before too long.
Aged 34, the club clearly thought it was time to move on. Yet there was clearly no hard feelings as Donaldson tweeted his appreciation for the club and its supporters.
Here is how Sheffield United fans react to his farewell tweet as both parties look ahead to a fresh start in the summer transfer window…
I would just like to show my appreciation to @SUFC_tweets all the staff, players, fans & everyone that’s connected to Sheffield United. I really enjoyed my time at Sheffield & im glad that I was able to contribute to the teams top 10 finish this season. All the best for the future
