Paul Scholes got off to the perfect start as manager of Oldham Athletic on Tuesday evening.

The Latics had the former Manchester United midfielder in the dugout at Boundary Park for the first time to oversee an emphatic win over struggling Yeovil Town.

Goals from Jose Baxter and Callum Lang gave the home side a two-goal lead before Bevis Mugabi halved the deficit just before the hour mark.

But Oldham did not rest on their slender advantage, scoring twice in the space of two minutes to put a stamp on an emphatic performance.

The 4-1 victory moves Scholes’ side up to 11th in the League Two table, just six points off of an unlikely play-off place.

After the new man’s inaugural victory, there was plenty of reaction on social media from the club’s supporters.

With that said, here’s how the Oldham faithful reacted to Scholes’ first win in charge of the fourth-tier outfit.
