Bournemouth host the opening game of the entire EFL season on Friday night, with newly relegated Championship club West Brom set to visit the south coast.

Both sides will have promotion ambitions for this upcoming campaign, with both teams also possessing new managers.

Scott Parker certainly has some conundrums to solve ahead of Friday night's clash. Injuries - and the club have had their fair share in recent weeks - and the ongoing drama that comes from the transfer market, means that all could change in a matter of minutes.

With this in mind, we have predicted what Bournemouth's starting lineup could look like come Friday evening...

It seems that Bournemouth are rather light in the goalkeeping department at present, but it seems that Mark Travers will get the nod.

Asmir Begovic's departure to Everton means that the 22-year-old is likely to be given the chance to impress at first-team level once again.

The promising young goalkeeper spent a month on loan with Swindon Town last season, making eight appearances in just over a month. Now, he is likely to be required to step up to the Championship for a consistent run of games.

The Cherries have seen their bid accepted for Newcastle United's Freddie Woodman, but an injury to the Premier League club's first-choice goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, has halted that deal for now.

Jack Stacey picked up a knock during Saturday's clash with MK Dons, and if he is forced to miss out, then Adam Smith would take this spot.

However, the attacking threat that Stacey poses makes him an exciting option for Parker to deploy. Despite his tendencies to get forward and support the play, the 25-year-old is equally as competent in defence.

The young defender has not yet made the right-back spot his, but this season could be his big chance to do so and secure regular football for the first time since his sensational season with Luton during the 2018/19 campaign.

An injury update during the week is likely to sort out this situation.

Zeno Ibsen Rossi has enjoyed an excellent pre-season with The Cherries, and looked just as confident and assured during Bournemouth's 5-0 thrashing of MK Dons on Saturday.

The 20-year-old has adapted brilliantly to Scott Parker's style of play and has seriously given the former Fulham boss some thinking to do in the absence of Chris Mepham and Steve Cook.

The young defender spent last season with Kilmarnock, making 14 appearances during his stay north of the border. Championship football will be a different test, but early signs suggest that he is ready for this challenge.

It will be a tough test against tough opposition if the 20-year-old starts on Friday, but he has earned his chance to impress.

Lloyd Kelly is set for a very big season. He has tremendous potential and this upcoming campaign could be his year where he shines.

Despite showing his ability last time out, he was often deployed at left-back - a position he was able to fill without a problem, but his best performances have come from central defence.

The 22-year-old has the physical presence and technical ability to operate as a modern-day full-back and suits Parker's possession-based style of football.

He was given the captain's armband for the clash with MK Dons at the weekend, displaying his leadership qualities at such a young age.

Leif Davis missed out on Bournemouth's 5-0 victory over their League One opposition, but it has been described as just a knock, so he could be in contention come Friday.

Davis provides a real attacking threat from the left-hand side - something that Diego Rico did not bring frequently enough last season. Also, the addition of the young Leeds centre-back allows Kelly the chance to operate in his much preferred centre-back role.

If he has not recovered by the weekend, then Adam Smith again may fill in (given that he is not covering Stacey at right-back). Smith's versatility has been highly-beneficial over the years at The Vitality Stadium.

Similarly Ben Pearson was not available for the clash with MK Dons, but he could be back in the starting lineup for Friday.

Adding Pearson to the squad in January was an excellent bit of business, and the former Preston North End man went on to enjoy an excellent half-a-season with The Cherries.

His tough-tackling nature, ability to read the game, and quality in possession, all make him an excellent choice at holding midfield.

Gavin Kilkenny has enjoyed a strong pre-season with The Cherries, but he may just miss out if Pearson is available.

Emiliano Marcondes is still Bournemouth's only permanent signing this transfer window. The 26-year-old was released after The Bees' promotion to the Premier League was confirmed.

The Danish midfielder is a real creative spark in midfield positions, posing an attacking threat from a slightly deeper position under Parker thus far.

The absence of Lewis Cook and Jefferson Lerma makes it very likely that the new signings will get the nod against West Brom.

Marcondes will be in pursuit of regular football this year after a mere 12 starts last time out. With a few absentees in the middle of midfield, it is expected that he will get an early chance to prove himself.

Despite increasing interest from Norwich City, Philip Billing makes the team as the second centre-midfielder. It has been reported today that the Premier League club are opening talks with The Dane ahead of a potential move to Norfolk, as reported by Football Insider.

The midfielder has previously said that he is a big fan of what Parker is trying to do - according to The Sun on Sunday (25.07.21, pg. 62) - and he has been an integral part of Bournemouth's pre-season thus far.

If he is available, Billing should be playing. There is already a shortage of midfield options for Parker to choose from and there is no denying that Billing is a quality footballer who can have a big influence on the final outcome of a match.

David Brooks has also enjoyed a fantastic pre-season, and added two goals to the start the new season with during Saturday's 5-0 win against MK Dons.

The talent the Wales international possesses stands him as one of the best players in the entire division. Similar to Kelly, this could be Brooks' season where he shows his full potential.

Last season, he scored five goals and assisted a further six in 32 appearances for The Cherries. These are figures that the highly-ambitious 24-year-old will want to improve this time out.

Brooks is full of confidence and he will be closely watched by Valerien Ismael's side on Friday.

Dominic Solanke also appeared on the scoresheet against The Dons and he will be hoping to break the 20 barrier this time out. In 40 appearances last season, the 23-year-old netted 15 times and provided 11 assists.

Solanke has shown promise all throughout his youth career and before last season, he failed to transfer that onto the first-team stage.

The 2020/21 campaign showed the division what he is capable of, and he definitely has more to offer.

If he stays fully fit, and his wingers continue supplying him like they have done, then Solanke can certainly hit 20 league goals this season, and he can even challenge for the golden boot.

In a very difficult decision, Junior Stanislas just about gets the nod here.

Jaidon Anthony has had an excellent start to life in Bournemouth's first team set up and one would imagine that he will play a part during this upcoming campaign.

However, the 31-year-old is still firing away and it is expected that he still has more left to give. Stanislas scored nine goals and provided five assists last year, proving he still has the knack to score goals and the service to provide them at Championship level.

It will be an intriguing battle between Anthony and Stanislas, but the latter has the experience that will be needed against difficult opposition.
