Queens Park Rangers pulled off one of the standout results of the Championship season following victory at Watford on Monday night.
It was a third away win on the bounce for Mark Warburton’s team, but more significantly, moved Rangers seven points clear of the relegation-zone.
Troy Deeney’s penalty early in the second period put the Hornets on course to continue their fine Vicarage Road form, but QPR produced a stunning late comeback to steal three crucial points.
Charlie Austin made it two goals in four matches following his return to Loftus Road, before late substitute Albert Adomah picked the perfect moment to score his first goal in Rangers colours to secure an added-time victory.
Quiz: Who has done more of these 15 things out of Brentford and QPR?
However, despite those two excellent late finishes, the West London outfit once again owed great debt to the performance of their ever-improving goalkeeper Seny Dieng.
Dieng, who was reported subject of interest from both Arsenal and Crystal Palace in the January window, didn’t have his busiest evening, but one first-half stop when pushing Francisco Sierralta’s close-range header onto the crossbar was worthy of the man of the match award in itself.
Here’s how many QPR supporters on Twitter reacted to Dieng’s performance:
If we can build a team around a spine of Dieng-Dickie-Chair the future is bright #qpr
