Nottingham Forest defender Gaetan Bong has posted an Instagram story from Montreal, Canada, which has left many Reds fans excited by the prospect of a January departure.

The left-back joined from Brighton in January 2020 but has made just 20 appearances since and struggled to win over the City Ground faithful.

Opportunities have been hard to come by for Bong since the arrival of manager Steve Cooper in September and it seems the 33-year-old could be set to leave the club this month – if his latest Instagram story is anything to go by.

The defender posted an image of some street art in Montreal along with the caption "Guess Where?".

Montreal Impact sporting director Vassili Cremanzidis told La Presse earlier this month that the MLS club could look to bring in more defensive cover ahead of the start of the 2022 season.

Landing Bong could be a solution and the move itself would suit all parties by also allowing Forest to get the Cameroon international off their wage bill and giving the player the fresh start that he surely needs.

It appears it will be a popular one among the City Ground faithful as well, with many Reds fans taking to Twitter to voice their excitement following the hint of a potential departure...
