Brentford could climb up to third in the Championship table with a victory over play-off rivals Blackburn Rovers at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon.
Thomas Frank’s side have not tasted defeat since their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest back in January, but the Bees have now drawn both of their last two matches following 1-1 score lines against Leeds United and Birmingham City.
Brentford will now be aiming to get their automatic-promotion bid back on track when they welcome Tony Mowbray’s side to West London on Saturday, with the match also seeing Bees goalkeeper David Raya pitted against his former club.
Raya progressed through Rovers’ academy system before sealing his move to Brentford over the summer, and the Spaniard has since played every minute of league action for the Griffin Park outfit during the current campaign.
The 24-year-old has now taken an Instagram to share an image from the Brentford training ground in the build-up to Saturday’s key clash, with Raya sharing that he was on the winning team in a training match.
Raya’s image then provoked a response from Brentford’s 20-goal striker Ollie Watkins who light-heartedly joked that he was also on the winning team, and that the photo was taken as he was fetching his water.

Brentford have been one of the most impressive teams to watch in the division this campaign, and all signs point to the fact that a strong team spirit is at the heart of the West London’s outfit success in recent months.
Raya will be especially determined for Brentford to return to winning ways on Saturday when they come up against his former club, particularly seeing as Rovers defeated Brentford 1-0 when Frank’s men travelled to Ewood Park in November.
It would give the Bees a huge psychological boost if they can climb up to third in the table on Saturday, but they will be relying on Derby beating promotion chasers Fulham at Pride Park on Friday night.
