Brentford's Ollie Watkins has brushed off any transfer speculation by stating that he's currently loving his time at the club.

The striker has been in terrific form so far in this Championship campaign and has managed to net 18 goals this season which is an excellent tally considering we're only halfway through January.

Watkins seems to be thriving at the Bees and playing his best football since making his way into the first-team setup at the club.

Brentford are sitting in third place and after Saturday's victory, they're now just six points off the automatic promotion places.

Watkins has expressed that he's loving it at the club and he's embracing the attention from other clubs in order to keep going.

Speaking to the Surrey Comet, Watkins said: "I am loving it here at Brentford and hopefully we can do something special this year.

“There is going to be attention, but you just got to embrace it and keep going.

“Where would I go and play football every week and score goals and have a big chance of hopefully getting promoted?”

The Verdict

Watkins has been brilliant so far in the current campaign and has shown why he is one of the league's best strikers. He has used his pace and finishing ability to the fullest so far this campaign, and these are two attributes every club looks for in a forward.

He looks to be far to good for the level that he's currently playing at and he'll hope that he earns promotion with the side so that his first touches of Premier League football are with Brentford.

The Bees are on fire this season and will be relying on keeping the striker as their man source of goals if they're going to get promoted.
