Brentford take on Sheffield Wednesday this Sunday with the home side looking to continue their unbeaten start to the new campaign.

Dean Smith’s men have managed to pick up four points from their opening two games of the Championship season.

The 5-1 opening day demolition of Rotherham United was followed by a one-all draw with Stoke City at the Best 365 Stadium.

Sheffield Wednesday meanwhile will be looking to grab their first three-point haul of the new campaign.

Jos Luhukay’s side lost their opening day clash away to Wigan Athletic before a hard-fought point at home to Hull City.

With that said, Brentford will be overwhelming favourites for this weekend’s clash at Griffin Park.

While we wait to see what goes on down in west London, though, we’ve drawn up a combined XI of the two sides ahead of their meeting this Sunday.

Have a look and see if you agree with the FLW writers…

One of the best goalkeepers in the Championship, Dan Bentley, has been one of the first names on the team sheet since his arrival at Griffin Park from Southend two years ago.

One of Brentford’s better performers so far this season, his high concentration levels allow him the opportunity to pounce on opposition attacks if a counter ensues from one of the Bees' attacks.

The goalscoring defender is all-action and is imposing on box boxes. If the Bees did not have him in their backline, it would be an absence of epic proportions.

The first memer of this combined XI from Sheffield Wednesday. Tom Lees has had an excellent start to the season despite the goings on around the Hillsborough club.

The 27-year-old is a decent ball playing defender who is also handy in the air.

The 25-year-old is a threat down the left-hand side and can pick out a key pass when it matters as well as intercepting when needing to defend.

Despite not featuring regularly, the former Peterborough and Burnley man still has plenty of talent to display and could find form and become a key player should he be given an extended run in the side from manager Jos Luhukay.

Brentford’s Sergi Canos can find the killer ball for his forward teammates and is adept at carrying the ball forward with pace by himself.

The 21-year-old is a goalscoring midfielder with plenty of panache.

The Italian dynamo is one of, if not the best player Sheffield Wednesday have on their books.

Fernando Forestieri can create something out of nothing and is one of the more influential members of the Owls’ team.

The left-sided player is a goalscoring midfielder who has pace and power in abundance.

Ollie Watkins has two goals in two league games so far this season and is a set-piece specialist who can cross, dribble, shoot. You get the picture; he is an all-rounder.

Two goals in two games for Neal Maupay who is becoming one of the Bees’ more valuable commodities.

A goalscorer who is willing to help create goals from his fellow players as well as add to his tally is key to this Brentford side.

Maupay is a real fox in the box type of striker and he's now the main man at Brentford, following Lasse Vibe's exit.

He's already off the mark this season and he'll be hoping to have a strong season in the league.
