Sheffield United will face off against Fulham in the Championship tonight, with the Blades no doubt desperate to see off the Cottagers despite their league positioning.
Oliver Norwood certainly believes that his side are capable of beating their high-flying opposition tonight too, as he told The Star that the Championship is an unpredictable league – and that means that his side could certainly bag the three points.
The Bramall Lane outfit started the campaign slowly and it ultimately resulted in them parting ways with their manager. Now led by Paul Heckingbottom, they are hoping that there can be a push up the table in the second half of the campaign.
Quiz: What club did Sheffield United sign each of these 29 players from?
The side have certainly been playing some better football under their new manager and are currently unbeaten in their last four games to boot. They’ve even managed to hold Coventry to a draw and have only conceded two goals in their last three games to boot.
It means that Sheffield United are in good form going into the Fulham game – and Norwood certainly feels that his side can claim another solid result in the Championship against the Cottagers.
Their opposition are led by Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is on fire in the league too. However, Norwood has claimed to The Star that he doesn’t pay attention to the form of the opposition – and that anyone can beat anyone in the second tier.
He said: “You see in the Championship every week, bottom beats top.
“It’s just the Championship, I wouldn’t like to try and bet on any games because you never know what’s going to happen.”
Norwood has been a mainstay in the side this year and the midfielder has helped lead his side to some superb victories – and he’ll be hoping to do similar again in the Fulham game.
Oliver Norwood is right in his thinking – anyone can certainly beat anyone in the Championship.
You would certainly fancy Fulham in this game, considering how incredible both Mitrovic and the rest of the squad have been so far this season. That isn’t to say that they can’t claim the points though, as United have themselves been impressive.
The Blades have also been on a good run of form recently, so it will be an intriguing clash to watch. Heckingbottom will fancy continuing his current run and his side are well-equipped to at least claim something from the Fulham game.
If they can get the likes of Norwood and Morgan Gibbs-White on form and scoring, then they can certainly claim a good result against the Cottagers.
