Sheffield United were left frustrated last night in the Sky Bet Championship as Birmingham City held them to a 1-1 draw at St Andrew’s.

Chris Wilder’s side had watched Leeds United beat Preston 2-0 on Tuesday, and with the two locked in a battle for the second automatic promotion place, victory would have given the Blades the advantage back.

Enda Stevens fired them in front, but Michael Morrison equalised for Birmingham shortly after, with neither side able to find a winner from there onwards.

And, Norwood was amongst those Blades to take to Instagram following the game, with the midfielder issuing this message:

The result at St Andrew’s has obviously pulled Sheffield United’s fate out of their hands again, but Leeds had lost to Birmingham just five days earlier, with Garry Monk’s side very good at what they do.

Now, attention turns to Saturday, with Wilder’s side back at Bramall Lane to take on Millwall.

Their game kicks off at 3pm, with Leeds not facing Sheffield Wednesday until Saturday evening, giving the Blades a chance to put the pressure on.

Currently there are five fixtures of the Championship season remaining for Sheffield United and Leeds.

The Verdict

Birmingham is a very tough place to go and get a result, and whilst the Blades will be disappointed that they didn’t win, the point could prove to be a very valuable one come the end of the season.

Wilder’s squad will know that and they will also recognise that they can pile some pressure on Leeds at the weekend, with the Whites having a considerably tougher fixture.
