Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie has piled praise on his side's second-half performance as they beat Blackburn Rovers 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Swans went in a goal down at half-time but three second-half strikes completed a fine recovery and fired Graham Potter's side back into playoff contention, much to the delight of McBurnie.

"What a second-half performance by the boys," McBurnie wrote on Twitter.

"Thanks to the fans again for sticking with us through the first half.

"We need to pick up where we left off on Saturday."

Charlie Mulgrew fired Tony Mowbray's side into the lead midway through the first half, tucking away a penalty after Amari'i Bell was felled by Kyle Naughton.

Potter's side went into half-time a goal behind and looked set to for another loss after a thoroughly unconvincing half, but whatever he said to his players in the break clearly worked.

An own-goal from David Raya levelled the scores on the 64th minute before Connor Roberts put the Swans in front four minutes later.

With five minutes left, Bersaint Celina was sent through by Leroy Fer and he made no mistake, cockily chipping Raya to secure the three points.

The verdict

Swansea have looked brilliant in flashes this season and last night's second-half performance was another flash.

McBurnie is right that they must carry on from that second-half performance against Reading on Saturday.

If Potter can get them playing consistently like that then it will be no surprise to see the Swans in the and around the promotion places.
