Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie says he is looking forward to next season at the club, amid reports linking him with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

McBurnie scored 24 goals in 44 appearances for Swansea this season, becoming the club's first-choice striker and helping the team finish tenth in the Championship table.

It was reported earlier this week that Sheffield United are interested in signing the striker and that former Swansea boss Graham Potter, who left the club to join Brighton earlier this week, is interested in bringing the forward to the Amex Stadium.

McBurnie is delighted with the progress he has made for Swansea this season and has thanked the fans for their support throughout the campaign.

The 22-year-old admitted that he is looking forward to spending next season at the club, where he is hoping to score even more goals.

“The fans have been absolutely unbelievable with me since I arrived here. It sends shivers down my spine when I hear the fans singing my name," McBurnie told Swansea's official website.

“For the love they show me, I try to repay them with goals. I’m really looking forward to next season, and hopefully I can score a lot more goals for them.”

The Verdict:

McBurnie has been one of the standout performers for Swansea this season and has become one of the best goalscorers in the Championship.

I'm sure the striker will be keen to improve on his impressive campaign next season, although he may find it difficult to turn down a move from the Premier League, with both Sheffield United and Brighton reportedly interested.
