Oldham Athletic have withdrawn their contract offer to former Sheffield Wednesday man Miguel Llera
The 34 year-old defender was released by the Sheffield club at the end of last season but was offered a deal by Oldham following a trial he had recently with the club.
Oldham released a brief statement on their club website: “Oldham Athletic AFC have formally withdrawn their contract offer to Spanish trialist Miguel Llera.
“The club would like to wish the defender all the best for the future.”
Llera spent just over two-and-a-half seasons at Wednesday after joining the club, initially on loan, back in November 2011. He made 87 appearances for the first team and scored 11 goals.
He arrived in England from Spanish side Hercules in 2008 when he joined MK Dons on a free transfer and the defender has also had spells at Charlton, Blackpool and Brentford.
