Oldham have today announced the signing of French midfielder Timothee Dieng from Stade Brestois.
Dieng has agreed a two-year deal with the Latics to become manager Lee Johnson’s fifth summer signing. The deal also contains the option of a third season which can be activated by the League One side.
The 22 year-old had impressed on trial with Oldham, featuring as a holding midfielder during the club’s recent 8-1 win over non-league Curzon Ashton. Dieng is a versatile player who can also operate in defence.
The Frenchman joins Mike Jones, Liam Kelly, Joseph Mills and Brian Wilson in signing up for Lee Johnson’s Oldham Athletic team for next season.
The Lancashire club recently secured a lucrative sponsorship deal with Sports Direct which sees Boundary Park renamed SportsDirect.com Park. Oldham will play Newcastle United, also sponsored by Sports Direct, on Tuesday evening in a pre-season friendly.
The Latics finished 15th in last season’s League One and are hoping to be upwardly mobile for the forthcoming league campaign. Lee Johnson’s side travel to Colchester on the opening day of the upcoming league season.
