Oldham Athletic have completed the signing of Cardiff City ‘keeper Ben Wilson, BBC Sport has confirmed.
The 24-year-old is surplus to requirements for the Bluebirds, and manager Neil Warnock has sanctioned the move for Wilson to go out and get some regular first team football under his belt.
He spent part of last season on loan with Rochdale, and he will hoping to impress once again as he moves to the Latics in time for the beginning of the new season.
Wilson has signed a short-term deal which will see him remain in Lancashire until January 2018, but manager John Sheridan will no doubt be hoping for some impressive performances from the stopper, which could well lead to his deal being extended come the winter.
Wilson has only made four appearances for the Bluebirds since joining the club. He began his career with Sunderland, and becomes manager Sheridan’s fifth signing of the summer at Boundary Park.
