New West Bromwich Albion signing Okay Yokuslu has taken to Twitter to express his excitement at returning to The Hawthorns, posting on the social media platform shortly after his arrival was announced.

The 28-year-old previously looked as though he would be heading elsewhere this summer after leaving Celta Vigo, with manager Steve Bruce saying earlier this month that he believed a deal wasn't likely to materialise.

However, following the midfielder's willingness to lower his wage demands, he became their top midfield target over Leicester City's Hamza Choudhury with the Baggies managing to wrap up a deal for his services fairly quickly.

It was reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano yesterday evening that he had undergone a medical and put pen to paper on a contract - and were now just waiting for his work permit to be approved before this deal could be finalised.

His arrival was confirmed earlier this morning, signing a three-year contract as he looks set to stay at The Hawthorns for a much longer period than he did during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign when he joined on loan.

And tweeting a message to the second-tier side's supporters after his arrival was confirmed, he expressed his excitement at returning to a place where he quite clearly had unfinished business.

He posted: "Excited to be coming home."

The Verdict:

This really is an excellent addition at this level - and it's an especially important agreement because of the connection the Turkey international had with the supporters during his first spell in the Midlands.

Standing out as a top performer in the top tier for the Baggies previously, he could be even more effective in the second tier and this is what makes his arrival so exciting.

Albion arguably needed a fresh voice in the middle of the park and though this wasn't exactly the most important position to address, with a left-back and a forward needed, this is a useful signing.

His presence could help the likes of Alex Mowatt and John Swift to advance forward and make a real difference in the final third, something that could end up being crucial to their promotion hopes.

Daryl Dike could be a real game-changer during this upcoming season after spending the majority of the second half of last season on the sidelines - but he can't do it on his own and this is why contributions from elsewhere will be important.

He may not get on the scoresheet a lot - but Yokuslu will help others to get forward.
