Pablo Hernandez has been a key figure at Leeds United since his arrival in West Yorkshire in 2016.

Leeds signed Hernandez at the start of Garry Monk’s sole season in-charge at Elland Road, with the ex-Spanish international helping to transform the side into play-off contenders.

His second season at Elland Road didn’t bring the same thrill of a play-off push, but Hernandez was a shining light; to some, the only reason to turn up during the second-half of the season.

Then, on the back of Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival in Leeds, Hernandez struck 12 goals and registered 12 assists last season, firing the Whites to third in the table.

They missed out on promotion, but Hernandez has been back for more this season, scoring six goals and registering six assists, despite moving into his 35th year.

Recently, Phil Hay at The Athletic has put it to Leeds United fans who they want to hear discussed on his upcoming podcast, offering ‘Pablo, past and present’.

As expected, many Leeds fans have flooded to that category, eagerly awaiting Friday’s reveal.

Here, we look at that building excitement…
