AFC Bournemouth are gearing up for a new era in 2021-22 with a new manager in the dugout in the form of Scott Parker.

After an eight-year run in his second stint as the boss of the Cherries, Eddie Howe departed Dean Court last summer following relegation from the Premier League and handed the reins to his assistant Jason Tindall.

That didn't exactly go according to plan and midway through the season the club parted ways with Tindall, and with seemingly no real plan on who they wanted as a replacement the job was handed to first-team coach Jonathan Woodgate until the end of the season.

Despite results getting better, Woodgate couldn't get Bournemouth back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and now it's Parker's turn to see if he can get the job done.

Taking a look at Bournemouth's recent seasons, let's look at their top goalscorer from each of the last 10 campaigns and see who their top goalscorers have been.

After working his way around the lower reaches of the Football League following his release from Burnley, Pugh found himself at Bournemouth in 2010 and became one of their long-serving legends of the EFL.

The 2011-12 campaign was one of his most productive as well as he scored 12 goals in all competitions as the Cherries battled to a mid-table League One finish in that particular campaign.

It would be the last double-figure season Pugh would manage, although he would get close on a number of occasions in the following years he would leave the brunt of the scoring to the actual strikers that he played with.

The 2012-13 campaign was the one where Eddie Howe returned to Dean Court for the second time as manager and guided the Cherries into the Championship, and much of that was down to the goals of Pitman.

Like Howe, Pitman returned to the club in 2012 as well having spent two-and-a-half years at Bristol City, and his mid-season return galvanised the club and saw them hit the back of the net on a regular basis.

Pitman finished the season with 19 goals in 28 games which is a phenomenal record - and to this day he's still scoring goals in the EFL for Swindon Town at the age of 33 showing that he will never lose that clinical touch.

Despite only being 23 when he joined Bournemouth, Grabban had already played for six different clubs before arriving at Dean Court on a permanent basis in 2012 from Rotherham United.

Grabban's debut season scoring record was eclipsed by Pitman as they forged a prolific partnership, but his second campaign was even better as he bagged 22 times in 46 matches to become the club's top scorer in their first Championship season.

The Cherries weren't able to keep Grabban though as he departed for league rivals Norwich City, however he'd return to the south coast 18 months later in a less-than impactful spell.

Bournemouth sold Grabban to the Canaries in the summer of 2014, and coming in to replace him was a young striker by the name of Callum Wilson who ended up more-than repaying the £3 million that was sent to Coventry for his services.

In his debut campaign with the Cherries, Wilson scored 23 times in 50 outings in all competitions, and it would be his only season in the Championship with the club as they reached the lofty heights of the Premier League for the first time ever with Wilson up-front.

It was clear to see there was a special talent there at the time and he would go on to do good things for them in the top flight.

Wilson wasn't to be the leading man for the next few seasons though, but that was because in September 2015 he suffered a ruptured ACL which restricted him to just 13 appearances this season.

So it was up to Joshua King to step up to the plate to deliver the goals, and whilst he didn't really do that as he only scored seven all season, he was still the top scorer that season.

It was a season of struggle in their first Premier League campaign but Bournemouth survived it and King had to step up to the plate after signing from Blackburn Rovers to help keep them above the drop zone.

Whilst he didn't exactly deliver in his debut season, King came on leaps and bounds for the 2016-17 campaign by scoring 16 times in 36 games and he was able to forge a partnership with Wilson for the first half of the campaign - before his season was cut short by another knee injury.

It was the first season that King had hit double figures in senior football and it cemented him as a good Premier League striker, and it was a hugely successful campaign for the Cherries as they finished in ninth place in the Premier League.

There would be a changing of the guard though when it came to Bournemouth's leading light in terms of goalscoring though in the following seasons...

After struggling with two knee injuries in as many years, Wilson battled back to fitness in 2017 to play 31 times this season, scoring nine times for the Cherries.

King also scored nine goals as well but on the basis of how many minutes each player spent on the pitch, Wilson takes the top scorer crown for this particular season.

Bournemouth were low scorers in general during the 2017-18 campaign, with the likes of Jermain Defoe, Ryan Fraser and Junior Stanislas chipping in but no-one was really prolific as Eddie Howe's side finished 12th and were now seen as an established Premier League club.

The 2018-19 season was more like it for Wilson as he netted 15 times in 33 outings and steered clear of any serious injuries for a second campaign in succession.

Bournemouth finished comfortably in 14th place in the Premier League and the partnership of Wilson and King will have had something to do with that, scoring 26 goals between them in the league with Ryan Fraser and David Brooks helping out with that tally as well.

It would be the last season in the top flight that the Cherries did half-decent though as the following campaign would be a struggle.

Even though Bournemouth's time in the Premier League came to an end last summer after five seasons, Wilson did his best to single-handedly keep them in the top flight.

After keeping fit once again, Wilson scored nine times in 39 outings but it was a difficult one for the club as they failed to get a real regular supply of goals throughout the campaign.

It would also be Wilson's last season in a Bournemouth shirt - he moved on to Newcastle United following the Cherries' relegation to the Championship but they would find a new goalscoring hero in the second tier.

After struggling to make an impact in the Premier League, many expected Dominic Solanke to thrive in the Championship and be the heir to Wilson's top scorer throne for Bournemouth.

15 goals wasn't enough to seal that though as instead last season's top scoring player was winger Arnaut Danjuma, who exploded into life after 14 scoreless Premier League games in 2019-20.

With his explosive pace and tricky feet, Danjuma was a nightmare for Championship defenders last season, scoring 17 times in 37 matches in all competitions and it would be no shock whatsoever if the Dutch wizard is in the Premier League next season with another club.
