‘Oh dear’, ‘New striker needed’ – These Huddersfield fans react as double setback confirmed

Despite Huddersfield Town winning two matches in a row and the mood amongst fans being increasingly positive, Carlos Corberan has revealed a double injury setback that will disappoint the fanbase.

The Terriers will be without Spanish right-back Pipa and veteran striker Jordan Rhodes for at least three months each in what will be a blow to Corberan’s plans going forward.

23-year-old Pipa was a bargain find for the Yorkshire side last season and he made 37 Championship appearances, but at times he suffered pain in his groin and after suffering a setback in pre-season, the wing-back will now undergo surgery to try and correct the problem, as confirmed by Corberan.

And after making three appearances so far this season, Rhodes’ comeback as a Terriers player will be put on the back-burner for a few months after he picked up a back injury.

Huddersfield were founded in 1908.

As Corberan has stated, it is a similar injury to what kept Harry Toffolo out of action last season and the issue with his bone will mean that the striker will be out of action for between two and three months.

Huddersfield fans have been reacting to news of both injuries and there’s a sense of ‘typical Terriers’ about it all.
