Sheffield United's hopes for promotion were given a huge helping hand during their Good Friday meeting with out of form Nottingham Forest at Bramall Lane, when the visitors saw Yohan Benalouane given his marching orders early in the second half.

With the Sheffield United striker bearing down on goal, Benalouane's challenge brought down the Republic of Ireland international, and despite the protests of those in Forest colours, the defender was giving his marching order by referee Andy Madeley.

Much of the complaints from those of a Forest persuasion centred on whether or not Benalouane was the last man, with a number of other players in a Forest shirt having been close to McGoldrick at the time of the challenge.

Many Forest fans were unimpressed with the decision, and that won't have been helped by Mark Duffy opening the scoring for the hosts just minutes later with a stunning strike from just inside the Forest area, and a number took to Twitter to express their disappointment at the decision, with some suggesting that The Blades' battle with Leeds for automatic promotion has something to do with Benalouane's dismissal.

Here are some of the best of those reactions.
