Nottingham Forest have today confirmed that popular defender Eric Lichaj has completed his move to Championship side Hull City.

The American, who has won 15 caps for his country, had been heavily linked with a move to the Tigers in the past few weeks, with Nigel Adkins a big fan of the player.

It was believed to have been held up recently as the clubs tried to agree a deal but that is sorted now with Forest confirming on twitter that the move had gone through.

However, they didn't disclose the fee, although it is likely to be fairly modest with the player having just a year to run on his previous contract at the City Ground.

Lichaj was a fans favourite at Forest for his aggressive approach but he lost his place in the XI towards the end of last season with Tendayi Darikwa getting the nod ahead of him at right-back.

This is the second transfer involving these two clubs already this summer after Michael Dawson joined Forest after years with Hull.

The Verdict

This is a good capture for Nigel Adkins and Hull as Lichaj is a solid performer at this level and the Tigers are short in defence.

At 29-years old he should still have a lot to offer in the Championship and is a good character to have in the team.

For the player, the chance to play regular football appeals, so it's a move that suits all parties.
