Official: Fantastic news for Ipswich Town ahead of international break

Published

on

Ipswich Town have confirmed via their official website that midfielder Emyr Huws is set to continue his return from injury with an appearance for the U23’s at Portman Road this evening.

The Welsh international midfielder is in the squad that welcomes Aston Villa to Suffolk this evening, and should gain further valuable minutes following his 90 minutes against Colchester United for the U23’s on Monday.

Huws’ return from the sidelines has come at an excellent time, with the Tractor Boys entering the international break, giving the Welshman two further weeks to prove his fitness ahead of Mick McCarthy’s side’s return to action in the coming weeks.

The Verdict

Ipswich are absolutely flying this season, and lie just two points off the play off spots at this early stage of the season.

The reintroduction of the impressive Huws will feel like a new signing for McCarthy as his side enter the busy Christmas fixture pile-up, and will provide the midfield with added impetus heading into the business end of the season.

Things are looking good for the Suffolk side, and fans will keep a keen eye on Huws as he prepares to face Villa this evening.

Ipswich fans, is promotion a realistic aspiration for your side this season? Have your say below…
