A number of Fulham supporters have bemoaned the performance of Ivan Cavaleiro following their frustrating 2-1 defeat at home to Reading on Saturday.
Marco Silva’s side headed into the game aiming to make it back-to-back wins following their impressive 4-1 win at Birmingham City in midweek.
That game had shown Fulham’s ability to bounce back from setbacks after they were beaten for the first time this term in the league at Blackpool.
Against Reading, Fulham were guilty of being far too wasteful in the final third and they did not make the most out of getting into some very dangerous positions.
That allowed the visitors to take advantage with them being more clinical in front of goal with their two goals.
One player in particular who struggled in the final third was Cavaleiro, with the 27-year-old losing possession of the ball 14 times during the 90 minutes. Whilst he also only able to deliver an accurate cross into the box on three occasions out of his ten attempts.
Are these 22 Fulham stats real or fake?
Many Fulham fans were left frustrated with Cavaleiro’s end product and there were one or two questioning whether he should be starting games for them off the back of this display.
Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
Poor selection for me today. Cavaleiro was dreadful. Robinson poor. Why change such a dominant winning team from days before? (Yes Reeds injured) but these games happen. Still think we’ll win the title. #coyw #ffc ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️

Ivan Cavaleiro is diabolical – no left foot, makes wrong decision 90% of time which results in him ballooning it over bar.
Ref awful again, Reading time wasting embarrassing – 96 not enough.
Not a fan of how slow we play when chasing a game, extremely frustrating.
We go again.

Every attack is murdered by Ivan Cavaleiro

Not idea how Cav played a full 90 mins. Absolutely no end product. Should be nowhere near the starting 11 #FFC

Really really poor today, with the team we have we should be winning these game, still a bit shocked that Robinson and Cav played both were beyond shocking at Blackpool, Muniz has to start next game, we can again next game. #FFC

We comfortably win that if Cav doesn’t play btw. He drops everyone’s level down and kills any momentum. #ffc

#ffc missing a bit of mojo at times up the middle; a bit leggy at getting forward & wide. Seri quiet. Cav ponderous. Wilson contained. We have shown sparks, just inconsistently. Need to set Jedi free quicker, try to feed Mitro in better positions, & take these half chances #coyw

I don't want to be one of those reactionary fans to a loss but Cav & Robinson offered nothing down the left except pointless floaty crosses that didn't trouble Reading's sub goalie. How Cav lasted 90 mins is beyond me. Don't want to see this combination again #ffc
