‘Off like a rocket’ – Doncaster Rovers man’s goalscoring debut has these fans purring

New Doncaster Rovers signing Fejiri Okenabirhie opened his account for the club on his debut as they saw off Tranmere Rovers 3-0 at Prenton Park on Tuesday night.

Doncaster came into this game looking to claw back towards the play-off places following a run of one win in four games in League One, with a disappointing 2-1 defeat to fellow play-off hopefuls Fleetwood Town last time out.

They made the trip to Prenton Park with new signings Fejiri Okenabirhie and Jacob Ramsey in the squad and it was the new boys who stole the show, scoring the three decisive goals on the night and lifting Darren Moore’s side up to ninth in the table, just three points off the top six.

Coming off the bench, Okenabirhie added the polish to a strong performance from the away side when he latched onto a long clearance and resulting mistake from Manny Monthe to calmly slot under the ‘keeper, with six minutes left to play.

It was a dream debut for the former Shrewsbury Town man and he took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the special moment for his new club:

The striker hasn’t been the most prolific in his career, but he has started very well and could be set to capture some great form at the Keepmoat this season.

Here, we take a look at how fans reacted to his performance and message on Twitter…
