Nottingham Forest midfielder Harry Arter has withdrawn from international duty with the Republic of Ireland due to a “minor” injury.

The 30-year-old has made only six appearances for Forest since arriving from AFC Bournemouth in the summer, but has been impressive whenever he has played under Chris Hughton.

Arter was selected by Stephen Kenny to play for the national side on international duty, but the midfielder has now withdrawn through injury for the second time this season, as per BBC Nottingham Sport.

Arter failed to make the squad against England on Thursday night, and will now miss clashes with Wales and Bulgaria after picking up what has been described as a “minor” injury.

This is a slight concern for Forest fans, particularly for the long-term, after seeing Arter struggle with injuries in the early stages of his spell at the City Ground.

The midfielder has made only three league starts for the club, and some fans have bee left feeling concerned by his regular injury concerns…
