October arrival Elijah Dixon-Bonner has sent a message to QPR fans after representing the senior side for the first time in yesterday's friendly against Livingston.

With the full Championship schedule set to restart on the 10th of December, the R's stepped up their preparations by hosting the SPFL club at Loftus Road on Tuesday.

Goals from Sinclair Armstrong and Macauley Bonne were enough to secure a 2-1 victory for the west Londoners, who were led by interim boss Paul Hall after Mick Beale's move to Rangers was confirmed earlier in the week.

The game offered a first chance to impress for the first team for Dixon-Bonner – the former Liverpool academy player that signed with the W12 outfit in October after a successful trial period.

He came off the bench as one of nine changes at halftime and took to Twitter after the game to send a message to supporters.

Dixon-Bonner will hope to make his competitive debut for the R's once the Championship restarts next month.

The Hoops are seventh in the table as things stand and host league leaders Burnley at Loftus Road on Sunday 11th of December in their first game back after the World Cup break.

The Verdict

With Beale leaving to take charge of Rangers, supporters of the west London club could do with a good news story and this milestone for Dixon-Bonner is certainly that.

The 21-year-old midfielder left Liverpool in the summer and signed for the R's in October after a successful loan spell but has been slowly integrated into the senior squad since.

He'll hope that the appearance against Livingston is the first of many for the club while the arrival of a new manager could give him a chance to force his way into first team plans quicker than usual.

The suggestions of those at the game has been that Dixon-Bonner made a strong first impression and his message certainly indicates he's hungry to impress.

It seems the R's could have another exciting young player on their hands.
